Allied Marine Brokerage & Charter, a division of the Ferretti Group, said company president Jon Burkard was named the Florida Yacht Broker Association’s Broker of the Year.

FYBA president Gary Smith presented the award to Burkard Jan. 30 at the FYBA’s annual meeting at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six Resort in Fort Lauderdale.

Burkard, who grew up boating, has had a career in the Florida marine industry for more than 35 years. He has spent more than a decade of that time on the FYBA’s board of directors and has served as Allied Marine president and Ferretti Group vice president of sales operations in North America since 2011.

“I am honored to be recognized by the FYBA and to join the list of outstanding yacht brokers who have been named FYBA Broker of the Year in the past,” Burkard said in a statement.

“The work that FYBA does on behalf of the yacht brokerage industry and the marine industry as a whole is crucial and I encourage all licensed yacht brokers and charter agents in Florida to join the association and help us give back to our industry.”
