CS/HB5005 UPDATE: Your Help Is Needed In Support of FL Yacht & Ship Brokers Act CS/HB5005 has one more stop in the House Appropriations Committee before moving to the House Floor.

Representative Esteban Bovo Jr. of Hialeah, the sponsor of the bill, resigned from the House of Representatives Friday to run for Miami-Dade county commission. We are unsure who will take over sponsorship of CS/HB-5005 at this time. We have leadership support in the House and Senate to get the Yacht & Ship Brokers Act removed from the bill, but it is far from a done deal.

FYBA encourages all those in support of our efforts to tell anyone who asks to be ready to respond to another call to action. Ask them to make sure all brokers they come in contact with are aware of our efforts in Tallahassee, including hiring a lobbyist and PR firm on their behalf. Ask them to support us by calling or writing their local state representative in support of removing the Yacht & Ship Brokers Act from CS/HB5005 and not deregulating yacht brokers.
